Tool tone/FX sticky thread ver. 1

Confirmed with my binoculars last night that it's a Boss DD3 in the position where the wah pedal was. He is not using a wah during that section of The Pot any longer. Also the MXR micro amp is back on the board. Its between the LS2 and the tremolo. Wasnt there in the pic from Adam's Instagram several weeks ago.

I'm guessing the MicroAmp is used to juice the signal for the Stingray on Descending to match the Wal's line level. It was off-board until they started playing it again recently. The setlist that circulated awhile back had an "LD" or "line driver" marking next to Descending as well.

I havent seen a LD on a setlist grabbed from the stage yet. You might be confusing it with a SL?
They signify where Maynard is to stand for the song.
Also the single knob pedal and the EB Vol have been mounted on his board since May (or earlier)
My guess the small white pedal is used to engage the extra GK he has in his rack, for use with the StingRay. I recently did a rehearsal in Florida with a SR and my GK settings needed to be totally different....nevermind just bringing it up to "line level"/matching the Wal.
**Edit: I had a better picture of the board back in may, showing the single knob sitting right inbetween his line selectors and the Vol pedal....but cant find it.

Back??...he has never had a micro amp on his board before.
Will take your word on the DD3, But it makes absolute, no sense its a delay. Since he has only 2 delay settings and wouldnt need 3 delay pedals.

What section, row seat in Toronto were you sitting?

The micro amp was on his board for the summer tour (post 771 on this thread, in the spot where the Providence delay is now) but was removed during that instragram pic from Adam. That was during the early part of this tour, before descending was being played. It is now back on the board in between the Ls2 and Tremolo. I'll attach a crappy pic I got from Toronto night 1. Toronto night 2 I had floor but snuck over to section 117 for the "encore" to some empty seats that were empty for the whole show and used my binoculars when the house lights came on to verify blue on the knobs of the pedal in question - the white boss pedal to the left of the Tonebender.

There's a higher res image of this somewhere, but the set notes are "Line Boost/Reduce" before/after Descending and "Increase Delay/Decrease" before/after Invincible.

So i just got asked to do a from start to finish 10,000 days show next year! Wish me luck. The pot is the only tool song ive properly learnt before. I guess I better get an expression pedal for my H9.....

So I've been keeping on the "up and up" on recent news articles, pod casts etc etc. Seems gear wise, they have shared a lot more about new stuff and what has changed. Where as other albums it took years to get that kind of info. Social media is a wonderful thing. What I haven't heard about is this, recent remake of the UK Lovetone Big Cheese...and him using it. But they mention him with other artists. I will have to ask my "little birdy" to pass on the link to what's up with that.

"Sonic examples of this circuit "

My take is that they are comparing it to a tonebender in Justin's case, not that he is actually using one. Clever wording

"You can find sonic examples of this circuit everywhere — U2’s the Edge used one, as did Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood, Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus, My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields, Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, and Tool’s Justin Chancellor"

I'm almost positive last week it said artists, instead of sonic.....and pedal, instead of circuit
Yes......clever indeed

From last night....Def not a white Boss anything, now sitting beside grey Tonebender....and The Pot was back in the setlist after being absent for a couple shows.
My little birdy, says new Dunlop JC sig should be avail sometime in Q1.
I will be buying one as a backup to my Foxx.
