Tool tone/FX sticky thread ver. 1

Maybe you have a clone of an S&S, or somebody moved the guts into a different enclosure?.....i have never seen one. Either way....i wouldn't suggest it for Tool.
Link Removed

It's not a clone of anything. Nobody has to use it for Tool, obviously but it's one of the best fuzzes I've ever used on bass, just massive sounding.

I’ll check this video out soon @Toolmybass not sure why you’re so upset. I’m just trying to learn more about the Bluebeard, which you apparently REALLY don’t want to discuss. Threads here get a bit diverted all the time, it’s not a big deal. I figure if you’re wrong about the top jacks... and you were, then I needed to investigate the other items you posted. Looking forward to your next post where you passionately defend the OP and get even more angry.

Not upset at all...even said they are great pedals!....If there was a thread on TB about someone looking for a pedal for say.....MUSE? I would have said "LISTEN TO vivaknoxvegas, that pedal is ALL over that.
BUT..its you that have the problem here. You have the "well i spent my hard earn money on this pedal so OBVIOUSLY (as you put it) its one of the best fuzzes ......kind of attitude towards the discussion here, and you can't let it go.
Its it definitely not the best or even close to what the person is asking for advise for.....
So please do look forward to my next post, or search any others from the past, when people ask for Tool tone advise.

EDIT: Not sure if its a Canadian thing...but when he asked for top mounted 1/4 in/outs, i was thinking of the ones that are actually on the top(face) of the pedal, because he may have not had room to do either of the 2 traditional spots for these.
So, my bad on that.

On a side note..."most" Tool tone nuts that do go out and buy the Tonebender are not 100% satisfied. On the parts Justin uses it on album recordings? is not exactly the same as what you hear live. His pressence almost dissapears when TB is engaged. This is very evident when at a concert (even sitting front row)....or have all the same gear leading up to the Tonebender and try it for yourself.
I have a Boss eq pedal post Tonebender, to put back what disappears after you turn it on. The BR2 does the same thing. So i purposely have my BR2,Tonebender and Boss eq in the same loop on my board.

I have a Blower Box on order. I know the owner of the company, had no idea it was a RAT-ish mod. Looking forward to trying one out!

Dude, I LOVE my blower box. I think I have one from the second run. It’s an older version that I threw a FET boost into. It sounds amazing imo. I’ve gone back and forth between the fuzzrocious rat tail, the Damnation parallel drive and the blower box. The blower box always ends up back on there. I can’t get enough if it’s grind and rat rippy sound. It’s not for everyone. I sure hope you like it. There’s a thread around here somewhere for the blower box. You should check it out when you get a chance.

But yeah, can’t say enough great things about the blower box. And Matt, the guy who builds them. Awesome dude building awesome pedals. Let us know what you think of the BB when it arrives and you get some time with it. Look forward to it.

I've read through the thread for sure, so much good info. It sold the deal for me pretty quickly! I can definitely see it as an always or mostly on pedal for a lot of songs.

@vivaknoxvegas : Thanks for your advise and Bluebeard seems pretty great and surprising for a muff circuit variation. Not what I was looking for exactly though and not available in Europe to try but reviews seems to agree it's best in this category even compared to further options references (EQD Cloven Hoof, BE Musket, BAT Son of Pharaoh...).

@Toolmybass : Thanks a lot for your feedback on your original Tonebender. Doesn't seem that great in the mix so, as I wouldn't like an additionnal EQ (I got Boss GEB-7 too) on my board just to compensate.
By the way, I meant top mounted jacks as for the bluebeard, not on face, please excuse my french ;)

I'll try to test one good tonebender and keep on diggin' for MY fuzz sound (to each their own).

I have a Brown Acid as well, and it's really good (disclaimer: coming from someone who doesn't have a ton of experience with fuzz). For those that have a Helix, the new Legendary Drive is quite good as well, and actually not too far off from the Brown Acid. True fuzz addicts will tell the difference of course, but in a mix...

I posted a sound comparison in the Stomp thread when firmware 2.90 first hit if anyone wants to take a listen.

5sg.

I will be doing a Rat shootout video soon. After years of trying every stock ProCo pedal (except V1) i started collecting modded ones...which appear in any of my YouTube vids. All have the vintage chip.

Far right: Moho Mods

Middle: Can't remember and checked my records lol (it has a more aggressive toggle)

Left: Kinnatone Mischief Mod...this thing is crazy, with a real blend knib on the side.

I'm liking it a bunch!....and having 2 separate delsy settings could come in handy if my Boss craps out or something.

Just waiting for Dunlop to release the Wah and im done....and can re-do the top of my board. The MXR will be out too.

That’s what’s so awesome about it imo. It sounds to me like the perfect mesh up of a muff and a bender. It’s got huge low end and can have really grisly and or buzzy fuzz. It’s just awesome. Every time I play that thing I write a new riff it seems.
The Brown Acid is a great pedal. I couldn’t decide between putting it on my bass board or guitar board so I ended up buying a second one, problem solved.
