Top three blues bassists?

When you say “blues” do you mean blues or rock?

Favorite blues bassists are
Willie Dixon
Blueblood McMahon
Maybe Dan Coulson
Yeah…aside from a few exceptions, perhaps this thread should be retitled “Bass players that dabble with blues songs that I know about ‘cause all I ever listen to is classic rock”.

What are we referring to by blues anyway? Are we thinking purest like Howlin’ Wolf or Taj Mahal blues revival? Blues Rock?
Personally I’m okay with all of them, the blues is the blues, and it’s more of a vibe to me than a specific style and era.

With that in mind the “Duck” gets one more vote from me.

Willie Dixon.
Colin Hodgkinson with Alexis Korner.
Tommy Shannon with Johnny Winter 1968 and 1969.
Tommy Shannon with Stevie Ray 1980 to 1990.
Glenn Cornick with Jethro Tull 1967-1970.
Obviously, Jethro Tull went from a blues band to something uniquely their own but Glenn made some pretty nice blues bass when the band played blues.
Jack Casady - Hot Tuna.
