Canada Toronto Ont. GTG......

I'm an absolute raw beginner just learning. Is it worth turning up, or would it be mostly over my head?

When JPrinos and I started these GTG a few years ago I had only then started playing bass, it didn't stop me from wanting to meet other players, and I've stayed friends with people I connected with from the start and met other people through them.

There are all different levels of skill and experience at these GTG, plus you get to see some gear you won't see in any stores, so I would say it's worth your while to attend.

I guess I am. I can't promise much in the way of ability, but at the very least I can turn up and ask eleventy zillion questions.

That's what it is all about.... Not to intimidate people with how well you can play every song Jaco played on and your crazy tapping techniques.:). Most people just like hanging out discussing all things bass and be able to try new stuff.:bassist:

Is there any cost associated to this get together?
I would like to be a part of this GTG.

Cool.

Won't be much. Depending on how many people show, I would guess likely $10 each max based on past experiences with Cherry Beach.

What gear are people thinking of bringing?

Most of my current setup is pretty hard to find in Canada, so I will likely bring a Fodera Emperor 5 Standard, a Jule Monique preamp, a Bergantino AE210 cab and a Darkglass B3K pedal for you folks to check out. And beer, of course.:)

As to some of the questions: yes, $10 per person if all the names above can show up. I believe it's $20/hr, for 4 hours it will be $80 total. Please pay me when you arrive.

Amara: you can try out basses if you want but you don't have to if you're not comfortable. And ask away, there will be lot's of experience in the room to draw from.

People can bring whatever gear they want, or not, it's not a requirement. It's just nice to see other poeple's gear, some is custom built, hand made, rare, or stuff people want to sell (amps, basses, etc).

I may bring my rig (MarkBass F1 amp, 2 EA Wizzy 12 cabs), my Roscoe 4 string, and my newly aquired Lakland passive Jazz style bass, which may be in stereo like my SX Jazz by the time we all meet.

I will bring my digital camera and video to capture the event.

For those who may not know, here's the location:
