Canada Toronto Ont. GTG......

Hey all,

Without derailing this Toronto GTG thread, does anyone know of Made in Canada bass strings? Should I start another thread in the strings Forum? Will I piss off or get any backlash from our friends South of the border?

Benner
Not sure if Fbass or Dingwall strings are made here or not. Both strings are great...Dingwall Nickels are killer.

NBD!!!! My new Sadowsky is safely home. This is one impressive bass. Its like they took my Metro Sadowsky and put it on steroids. The P pickup is onee of the nicest I have ever heard. If all goes well I will playing it this coming Friday (Sept. 28th) at Drums N Flats Ajax. pics to come, here is the store shot.

That is a thing of beauty...

It's 7.5lbs and plays extremely fast. I've been on a 5'er for 20 years so I need to reorient to a 4 stringer. Only had one miscue so far. I'm really hoping to be up and running with it for this Friday. Only caveat is the Mrs is unaware of this purchase. I need to sell my Ray and tell her I traded up...... Or something believable like that.

I hope you all don't mind my posting this, as it's not bass-related... If it's a problem, just let me know and I'll delete it. Thanks.

A good friend of mine has "lost" his custom-made guitar. The Beck taxi company is being entirely non-helpful. I am personally offering a *cash reward* for any information that leads to the return of this instrument. Just PM me, and when we get the guitar back I will EMT you a payment. Here is the information about the incident (in his own words), as well as some pictures of the guitar.

"I hailed a Beck taxi after a performance with two other people at approximately 2:30am, the morning of 27th September within the vicinity of B Side Lounge, 669 College Street and we were dropped off at Sneaky Dees on College and Bathurst. Unfortunately I left my guitar in the trunk of the taxi and I paid in cash. I have called Beck's customer service line and they have said that a messaged was flagged to all taxis. However, the guitar has not yet been reported found. The window of time between the time I was picked and the time I realised and called the taxi company is 2:30am and 3:20am."

"I am asking for your help in following up on this issue. I am desperate to find any way to get my guitar back. I have canvassed the street to see If I could pull any camera footage to get the taxi number, but have not yet been successful. Please folks keep and eye out for me. The guitar is Furch GCC24 custom cut out guitar. Cedar top and cocobolo back and side. "Kunle" engraved in pearl on the 12th fret of the feet board. It's in a black Furch case."

Played the Avenue Rd. Drums N flats on Friday and was definitely feeling the P from the new Sadowsky. Or maybe I was just stretching out my neck.

@SadowskySteve what's the atmosphere like at the Avenue Road location? We have had a few opportunities to play there but haven't been able to make it jive with our schedule. Do they also do sound there too? Thanks in advance.
