Yep, the process is pretty much identical.I like this Warby Parker ad that shows how they make their frames from cellulose acetate. I'm assuming a similar process is used to make tort.

So, no "3D" tort?I see a lot of the 'usual suspects' on that page. Some reasonably cool and somewhat authentic patters for some of the true vintage stuff (like the tiger stripe, and the spotted ones) but I don't see anything that replicates the celluloid of Fender guards from the 60's and early 70's.
