TORT making attempt

i say put on any pickguard you want, to show off! --- and then shine 3-5 pin spots on it while you stand in that 'one place'...while you're soloing.

I've always wanted a really good sparkle or 'chrome' finished bass...so I could then use it to blind people out in the crowd.

When I was in grade school back in the early 'digital watch' days, I remember us sitting in class and covertly using the sunlight to reflect into our teachers' faces...and a cell phone can be used to such ends these days too. Imagine doing it with some high intensity stage lighting. ;) I'd feel like I'm getting reparations for all the times I've been hit point blank in the face by movers and a poorly trained production guy.

If you're going to fake tort by painting, my suggestion is to paint on the backside of some acrylic sheet - that way, the surface you might scrape your hands against is not the paint surface - you see the paint through the acrylic, not on top of it. I've done this for solid color pickguards - in that case it worked very well. Not sure how to paint tort, but..good luck. Show us your experiments. At the very least, you'll learn something.

Cheap epoxy off Amazon.. Gold foil backing..

Epoxy pouring or painting.. On surane wrap make thin sheets layer it

Hahahahaha! I was giving him the tort but expressing open-mindedness towards rav. I'd also consider a nice, melty baked ziti.

When did “melty” become an actual word? When the first ad copywriter had to come up with a descriptive word to describe cheese? Was it before or after the word “funner” was used to describe an activity that was more fun than another activity?

ok - so...i seem to be at a loss for finding 'nice' tort.
With a couple hours of research, plus with some 30yrs of graphics knowledge (think 'old school' hand painting back pre 1985)...i may attempt to make some tort blanks. Not sure i can vest the time in the shapes etc.,but i may do some various techniques and see where that takes me.
ANY trial and error or info from others who have ventured down this rabbit hole, would be welcomed.
Maybe with a culmination of ideas/ R&D, we can create something damn fine...without a $300 price tag per. (the only company that is creating them currently)

thanks guys :)

the best tort guard I’ve ever had , is a pixelated 80s squier guard. That is the absolute closest to A 60s guard

Thats pretty cool.
Probably the same place the people who sell the $300 tort pickguards buy theirs.

Lol, if you mean Spitfire by this, I don't know what to tell you except that those sheets look like the typical ugly modern tort and absolutely nothing like the vintage look of a Spitfire tort. I understand a lot of people don't seem to see the difference, but just be glad you don't, your wallet will thank you :D

Melty IS ridiculous, but people use a lot of questionable words. When people say no fuss no muss, what exactly is "muss"? Spic and Span are both highly suspect. Melty is fairly innocuous in comparison.
