Thanks. I need to do the two reds wet on wet....unfortunately they only sent one red...so I had to cheat. I have to find some differing application tools as well. But....it's getting close. Prob 3 or 4 more semi-failed attempts, and I should have it nailed.That looks pretty good to me.

I wonder if anyone has tried making tortoise shell-like material using a 3-D printer? Start with a graphic image of some really good looking pattern material, and filter out the different colors into layers. Then have the 3-D printer copy the pattern, making passes of 3-4 different colors of plastic dust.
The tortoiseshell material made in Japan by Hosco is made like this. There is a yellow layer and brown or red layer on that. You can see the yellow layer just above the white.
