Almost embarrassed to post mine after some of these shots... I took advantage of an unseasonably nice January day and went for a hike up on the Appalachian Trail.

Worst butt whipping I ever got was from the part of that trail that dips into NC for a few miles. A buddy and I figured we could take it for a few days. We knew nothing about camping OR hiking. Those mountains just about killed us. But, man, it's beautiful up there.

The section of the AT that runs from Dragon's Tooth to McAfee's Knob runs right by my place... (within a coupla' miles) it's a common thing for rescuers to be called in up there. The severity is often underestimated. Yessir... lotta' butts kicked by that path.

This juvenile Coopers hawk was perched in my frontbyard about 4 feet off the ground. Waiting for breakfast, I think.

This doe and fawn were browsing out back last summer.

These turkeys were right by my front porch.

These are a pair of the macaws that live in the parrot rescue I operate.
