Yesterday, at the point where the Mother Road (Rt. 66) crosses into the modern boundary of the Petrified Forest National Park.

This old Studebaker was found, abandoned, along the side of the Road, when the National Park Service was expanding the borders of the park.
They left it right where it was, as a memorial to the people and the decades that the Mother Road served.
