The only time I've photographed Red Squirrels I only had my iPhone on me and they were up in the tops of the trees.

I saw these in Pitlochry in Perthshire earlier this year. The landowners had put out feeders and we saw about six Reds.

They are sweet wee animals really. The ones in the Botanics are very tame. I had another climb my leg because I was pretending that I had food in my hand.

Here in Scotland we are slowly returning the red squirrel. The grey squirrel is an imported species!

I found out the friends who we share a connected side porch with have been feeding this squirrel who keeps running up and scaring the hex out of me while I'm TB'n out here >

Tossed him a piece of banana and some tater tots out of the compost bin on the porch we share, and he went away happy (too bad this last one is slightly blurry :/ He quick!)

I took my boys down to the Botanics last weekend with some sunflower seeds. We were upstaged by a couple with plain peanuts who got all the squirrels eating out of their hands. Apparently seeds just don't cut it anymore!

Can't remember the specifics of that particular trip but we generally catch enough. Mostly walleye with some sunfish sprinkled in.
