There's a place in the uk that looks similar to your pics it's called ladram bay in Devon. I haven't been there since I was a kid so I have no pics.

The 2 cats and I subletted this room in a house for 3 months right after my divorce... It was slightly out of the city of Seattle on the northern tip of Lake Washington, and it was like Wild Kingdom in there between the critters passing thru the overgrown yard and the interior spiders that were large and in every room (I was in the half underground basement area.)
One morning upon opening my eyes I spotted this arachnid and his web on the INSIDE of my window, and I know he wasn't there when I went to bed >
I awoke just in time to watch this unfortunate unknown type of beetle get entangled, as the spider ran down and injected it with venom rendering it immobile, them cacooned it in silk for a later meal
