A batch of cottage pie filling almost ready. I've got about a half cup of drippings from the carrots onions and garlic that's going in to break up the char and it will be ready for an iron skillet a topping of mash and a quick trip under the broiler. Usually served with english peas but tomorrow it will be one of many choices on the sideboard at my pop's place.
Everyone's coming and they are all bringing their noisemakers and something to eat. All that and dirty Santa. Life is good.
