Before COVID-19 my wife and I planned a trip to England, Scotland and Ireland. I'm not sure if we will be able to do that trip this year, but if not we have two years to make it up.

I have been lucky enough to live in very beautiful places as well. Where I live now is my favorite. Mainly because it’s the countryside I knew as a kid. We had a choice of a new turnkey house in a newish neighborhood or a rundown ranch built in 1956. We opted for the ranch. :thumbsup: Lots of work. :) But a labor of love.

Looks like a great place to chill out and have a beer. Congrats on the country. Would love to be there myself, or at least a smaller town.

BTW, I have a friend who purchased a new townhome walking distance from a very trendy downtown area and public transportation. Within the two years the Sheetrock was buckling and some areas had developed some serious settling cracks. He paid a small fortune for his place. Needless to say, there are no guarantees with new construction.

Agreed:thumbsup: after looking at some “foam castles” we decided on this place. Solid 1956 house just needed love. Still does. Right now I’m kickin’ it behind the barn on it’s patio with my little dog. He’s recovering from a large dog attack. :)

I hear you. I’m in a similar boat with a 1973 home. I paid 500K below what new construction went for and is now built out and gone. I figure any money I’m sinking into my house now is just helping it reach its full potential. We’re in the process of getting a metro station completed within a 5 minute drive. 5.5 more years until retirement and Im out with enough to pay cash in full for my next house down south near family. The goal is no more mortgage payments post 60 years old.

Mountains, beaches, wetlands, dense forests, desert, plus some beautiful wine country and plenty of nice agricultural areas. The trees in the foothills are gorgeous in the fall.

Nice house :) you have done an excellent job would love to have a pool. the weather in coventry is very hot and dry. :thumbsup: has been for nearly 2 months so would be nice. but your pool is bigger than my whole garden :crying:
