Totally amateur phone camera pics thread.

Wow. That's a fine camera!
How do you find it as a phone?
My Galaxy S5 is slowly dying and I'm starting to look at replacements.

I had an S5 so believe me when I say the Pixel 2 is leaps and bounds better! It's faster, smoother, and has better speakers. I absolutely love using the Squeeze feature with Google Assistant. BUT the S5 has expandable memory and a headphone jack, which I miss on the Pixel 2.

So, my Pixel 2 and I made a weekend-ish trip to Atlanta, just got back very early this morning. Here are some highlights:

Panoramic shot of where I ate dinner Saturday night in Decatur at My Parent's Basement, a restaurant/bar/comic book shop/pinball joint, good beer list, great food:

One of the reasons for the trip was a chance to finally get to the Georgia Aquarium, and see the whale sharks. It did not disappoint:

There were a few other fish swimming around as well, such as this enormous grouper (EDIT: I just realized that I'm visible in the reflection on the plexiglas, wearing my "Haddon Industries" t-shirt - bonus points for any geeks that get the reference from that  ):

And, yes, I did get out for a walk in Piedmont Park yesterday before it got ridiculously hot (the air quality was rough, however, so it was a shorter walk than we wanted it to be), and of course, I took complete advantage to get some nice flower shots:

Snaps from a walk around my block at sunrise Sunday morning, before going to bed  (We drove back from Portland, OR after playing last on Saturday nite. I was too caffienated to sleep any sooner.)

After such a long grey rainy season (winter in Seattle), it's really nice to see all the flower fotos in full bloom from all over in this thread :)

Gard hits the nail square on the head!
If you’ve yet to visit the GA Aquarium (bought and paid for, personally, by Arthur Blanke), ya really oughta.
There’s no denying it’s pricey, but I’d have paid the fee if all I came away with was these two pictures.

These pics WIN. :D

And while I dislike one of Mr Blank's other major possessions (Failclowns! :spit: ;) ), the aquarium ALMOST makes up for it. ;)

So, I still have the Pixel 2, long story...but at least another week's reprieve!

Dawn this morning:

An orange blossom, with very small/juvenile oranges in the background:

The infamous Ox, curled up next to me asleep:

An unidentified flower, smaller than you might think:

A while back, I posted a photo of a husky named Bear. This is his sister, Sasha:

And, last but not least, the most recent photo of our family of Sandhill cranes, just a couple of doors down from my dad's house:

...I had a busy day takin' photos today (and I left out almost 10 other flower pics...)....

Our daughter and son in law lived in Australia for almost 13 years...between 2004 and about a year ago.
They’ve moved back to GA, and brought their baby...of Course her name is Georgia :D, and bought a home down in Atlanta.

We visited them for Mothers’ Day, and I got my first look at the house-warming present our son made for them...
