Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai, Thailand earler this year. (The coffee is pretty good in Chiang Mai)
NYC from the hotel balcony in Hoboken NJ during last US trip.
(No decent coffee to be found in the North, either)
Definitely not a US barrista...
I really couldn't pin down what's going on there. I was very much looking forward to the coffee on my first US trip. All characters in US movies/TV shows are constantly drinking coffee and talking about "good coffee".
First one I had after landing, I literally spat out but wrote it off as some numpty must have cleaned the equipment with kerosene. Unfortunately, the pattern was repeated in every State (30-odd) until I gave up and got my caffeine fix elsewhere.

I had three, and I'd be on #4 right now, but when I was shopping for the replacement for #3, the only one I could find that was worth considering was $2K more than the Acura MDX of the same model year I found. Hard to spend that extra 2G....and my MDX, while a bit of a gas hog, is a really nice ride.
If they still made Elements, however, my next new car would be another E. I really miss 'em.

OK, so, out on my bike ride today, dodging the rain (it's been raining for 3 days straight here, and won't be letting up this week 
)....got to one of my water stops, and there is both a people fountain, and a dog fountain...and as I'm getting a swig of water, something catches my eye in the dog fountain...
....what could that be...
...why, hello, little brown tree frog...that's not exactly a tree...
...I'm ready for my closeup!
Pretty little flower, noticed in my front yard - check out the blade of grass right next to it for a size reference - that's typical fescue grass, so it isn't a "big" blade at all:
And, the latest of our family of Sandhill cranes, just chillin' this morning by the lake:
