A little fog at the beach to start off the Cinco de Mayo festivities

Spring has at last sprung, and our neighborhood is popping off with vibrant colors 
More fun down on the Firth of Forth today. This is the famous railway bridge, and the spans of both the old and new road bridges behind it.
My adventures today took me down into the Dalmeny Estate. The tide was out about as far as it can possibly go, revealing this rich mudflat habitat. The vertical poles are, I reckon, WW2 relics. A lot of the coastline on either side of the Firth of Forth is studded with wooden poles designed to foul up gliders had Hitler called for an airborne invasion. Many of the poles still survive in places in East Lothian and Fife, but this is the first time I've spotted them this far upstream on the south side of the Firth.
I tried to get to the closest pole, which was all of ten feet out into the sand and mud, but that stuff is horrible to walk on! I was quickly getting quite stuck.

The fountain at my water stop/turn around spot in the middle of downtown Winter Garden, FL - I've meant to photo this one for a while now, and kept forgetting until this morning:

Not my pup, this is Bear-a-cuda the brown husky, a regular on my ride through Oakland, FL. He happened to be at the water fountain when I was getting a drink, and peeked at me from behind a bench while I was looking and had my phone out - so, here's a pretty cute shot of him:
And, last, but not least, and certainly the anthesis of the cute furry guy above...you meet the most interesting critters on bike rides in Central Florida! This guy was crossing the bike trail as I was nearing the end of my ride. I was able to get off my bike and line up a shot - VERY CAREFULLY - before he headed off into the weeds...and YES, that is indeed a genuine Coral Snake, as in the most venomous snake in North America:

You found the good tourist spots! Today I was somewhere that looked like it should be in a Harry Potter film, even though it isn't. This is The Dome at New Register House at the east end of Princes Street in Edinburgh. This is where Scotland's births, marriages and deaths are recorded, dating back to 1553. Quite interesting to be here for a presentation, and have staff actively filing records on the floors above:
