Bought my first watermelon of the season, and it appears that our friendly (& foxy) neighbors had some fun dressing it up after I left it on our connected porch overnight

Today's bike ride yielded this bunch...
...begonias:
...and, well, a few shots of a Florida Box Turtle that decided to cross the bike path. The interesting part was that when I got off my bike, and sat on the path to get some better angles, well....see what our intrepid box turtle decided to do, starting with peering at me through the grass:
Then choosing to head directly toward where I was sitting down:
Then right up into my shadow:
Then, he (she?) tucked his (her?) head right under my hip:
...I have a video of the rest of the encounter, but can't figure out how to post it!

Lantana, which is used as an ornamental in most places, but here in Central Florida, it's actually considered a weed. I've seen it take over a yard, and it's a real b*tch to get rid of once it does (speaking from first-hand experience)....

I ordered a refurbed Pixel from Amazon and they sent me a Pixel 2. I'm annoyed at the lack of a headphone jack but it sounds like I'll be able to get some nice pics at least.
Yeah, that annoyed me a bit, but I've been using Bluetooth headsets for several years now, so it was a pretty minor annoyance. You'll be very happy with the camera - I appear to have a bit of a reprieve on the phone swap, not sure how long, but it could be up to another 3 weeks now....
You can see all the sun flower seed hulls left over from feeding the birds all winter.
He doesn’t run very far when I come out to fill the feeder. This is his second season of gobbling and trying to whoo the hens.
