still could describe myself as totally amateur (never studied any music) but been doing music for some decades, below almost 20 year old track.
I've tried this before, but hasn't taken off. There's a pic thread, why not a tunes thread? A couple of my latest looping experiments to start:
Accidentally pseudo-classical bass clarinet loop thingie:
New Guitar Day practice:
Anyone else?
Thanks for the kind words! but I know for a fact you're lying, my first cousin Bruce was first clarinet in the US Army Band for 30 years and he tells me I pretty much suck!Wow! I had two sisters that played Clarinets of all sizes, Your tone and intonation is fantastic. Nice piece.

(Actually, he's far too nice to say it, but yeah, I'm embarrassed to say I play clarinet! He makes me cry!
)For folks with children on the spectrum, especially those profoundly so, this will be familiar, if also painful. I sympathize. Though exceedingly personal this song could be about having the daily struggles and triumphs of an autistic child, and adult.
This is our story.
Maybe my 70 year memory of my sisters skills is slightly overrated?? New piece I'm working on... hoping my band catches on otherwise it's going in That Drawer... you know the one
It's a work in progress, so yeah it's a bit rough around, well, everything...
Cheers from France![]()
Hey thanks for the feedbackThe lower volume intro, and the lower volume part between 0:27 and 0:43...I'm guessing you want those parts to have a certain effect, but IMO they're a little distracting. I'd like to hear this piece go full bore from beginning to end. Purely IMO, of course!
Aside from that, I like it a lot. Those are some MEAN riffs! And I think it sounds good "rough" - that raw sound works for this piece, Again, IMO.
Oh...I didn't know there will be vocals added. In that case, it makes perfect sense. And now that you mention it...the lower volume intro does add a sense of anticipation for the "explosion."Hey thanks for the feedbackyou're right about the intention : for the intro I like the "explosion" effect when everything comes together, but I'll give your suggestion a try. And for the other lower volume part, I'm trying to leave some headroom for the singer
but for the rest of the time he'll just have to fight for a spot in the mix!
Honestly I'm just having fun trying to drive the meters to the breaking point and filling as much space as possible with heavy stuff... Screw the singer right?
Yeah I should have mentioned there's a singer in my bandOh...I didn't know there will be vocals added. In that case, it makes perfect sense. And now that you mention it...the lower volume intro does add a sense of anticipation for the "explosion."
But I do dig it as an instrumental.
