Totally irrelvant TBer info share thread

You can make your own, (probably for cheaper then the expensive stuff)
It's just eggs and oil and vinegar. Pick your oil, I like Olive Oil.

We do this occasionally. On a related note sometimes olive oil isn't all olive oil. My stomach knows.

Do you have 100% success making it? Once in awhile we end up with salad dressing. We aren't sure why. One theory is the eggs aren't riom temp.

Yeah you have to read the label carefully when shopping for oil. In any case I have about a 95% success rate on the first attempt. I use a hand mixer with a whisk attachment on high and drizzle the oil very slowly, if it just doesn't come together I add another egg yolk and then it works about 99% of the time. That last one percent is incredibly annoying.

The type of bad olive oil I have found is cut with soy and labeled as just olive oil.

Thanks for the tip on the prep.

My friends in Medford and Eugene never locked their front doors, either, come to think of it.

A vigilant burglar is not dissuaded by a locked door in any case, unfortunately. But here in LA I've had neighbors home invaded, and had to fight off a trio of burglars once myself... So I would NEVER knowingly leave the door unlocked. At least it slows 'em down...

I read and here this all the time "where I lived we never had to lock our doors".

What is with these people ? Do they live in some kind of delusional world where everybody is nice and honest and crime doesn't exist?

Do they think crime only happens in some far off fantasy land?

I lock my doors each and every time I go anywhere... takes less than 10 seconds per door.

Ditto for vehicle when parked...anywhere.

There's a member of my family who died in the early 1950s named Banana Nose.

Nobody can remember his actual name or what his relation was to the family. That info died with gramma O.

He drank a lot, didn't really speak much, and played the spoons at family functions. Pop says his nose was rather normal.

I once killed my brothers' goldfish when I was very young. They won them at a carnival and had each goldfish in a small bowl. The bowls got dirty and stinky fast. I thought I would do them all a favor by putting a little dish soap in each bowl. My brothers were really pissed when they saw their fish belly up in the suds.
I hid.
That's more of a confessional than irrelevant info.
Hope it was cathartic for you to share that. :)
