Well, there are relative levels of crime from region to region.
I live in a very low-crime area that, if it weren't for meth and heroin addicts looking to steal stuff to sell for drugs there would be near-zero crime.
There's a nearby gated community that must be one of the safest populated and developed places on earth. There was a minor rash of thefts there about four years ago-- several boys were stealing TVs and tools, let in the community by one of their buddies who lived there. They were caught and prosecuted.
I lock my doors at night but not through the day unless I'm leaving for more than an hour or two. I recently was home alone and decided to go out for a drive in the country. Left my garage door up, house unlocked, keys in the other vehicle, and had no concerns.
I wouldn't do that everywhere, but there are places that are relatively safe.
I've almost totally blocked out all memories of high school because I hated it so bad. I'm not joking, I hardly remember anything about it.

I still own the drum pad and drum sticks I got and started taking drum lessons with at age 10 in grade school in 1966.
I have an irrational fear and general dislike of citrus seeds so whenever I eat clementines, I hold each segment up to the light to see if there's a seed.

A year ago I weighed almost 400 pounds, now I'm less than 200, and I'm not sick and ate whatever I "felt"like eating, whenever I wanted it. 
No. I can mix it up, sometimes.
I don't use the phrase "I'm OCD" because I worked with someone in the past who was really OCD, as determined by a professional. He was a really nice guy, mellow. His issue was checking doors to make sure they were locked if they needed to be locked. If he thought he forgot to lock a door, he had to go back and check it. This included driving back home from work just to check the door.
Why is it possible for someone to run at you with a car and act like it's okay because they were mad, but the second someone pulls a gun out everyone panics?
