I’ve tried both sets on my Fender AVII Jazz Bass. Not noticing a huge difference in tension, FX is slightly less, thought it would require more of a truss rod adjustment. The FX set, to my ears, definitely a little brighter where I need to roll the tone back a bit more. Still fairly new so some more time is required for them to break in. A hard decision which set I like more.

It seems you have to choose between flats or fake flats. If you want the sound of flats you have enough brightness with a jazz bass so the FL are better.
