Weirdly, I've always thought the Toyota FJ looks like what you'd get if Yamaha designed a car.
Hitachi, that other Japanese conglomerate that makes literally everything, also made guitars under the Splendor brand. Apparently quite decent acoustics and electrics!
Suzuki made guitars and motorcycles and what didn’t Yamaha make? They’ve done guitars, pianos, home audio, motorcycles, boats, outboard motors, drums, wind instruments........

Kinda cool, but not $1200 cool for me. I feel like that’s gonna sit on CL for a good long while.
As long as it's not a Lada Bass, you'll probably be OK. 
But do they have a Certified Pre-Owned program???
My car has Fenders. Both inside and outside.

I saw a VW guitar once, but I don’t think it was actually made by VW. The guy was going to give it to me, then another “friend” convinced him it was worth a small fortune.

IIRC many car makers do stuff like this. It's basically just a money-grab these days, but some of them can be good! Like Yamaha, right?
Werent there some guitars released alongside american muscle cars aswell? I seem to remember some ads with like matching guitars in them.
But yeah I know like, BMW makes bicycles once in a while, I've seen tons of mercedes merch, like perfumes and stuff. Mostly a marketing thing, allthough being 1972 this is probably more of a legit effort to get into the instrument business.
Definitely an oddity and collectible. Not just for musicians, but also for car guys I guess

And so does my 2015 VW GTI.
And it's pretty nice also. And, to bring this back to a bass perspective, my car often carries a Fender J or P. And has four fenders on the outside.
Didn't BMW have something to do with designing the Bongo?
It wouldn't surprise me at all! It kinda looks like a BMW now that I think about it!

Looking them up it seems that actual cars or trucks are one of the few things Yamaha doesn't make, but they build golf carts, which is close, as well as automotive engines, just no actual cars as far as I can figure out.
