Talk about a "missed opportunity". I could easily see Sean Connery behind the wheel of one of those in "You Only Live Twice".
More like he'll use someone else's guitar design for a few years in a clear case of copyright infringement. Then, when the original luthier asks for recognition of said design's origin, rather than letting the suits and lawyers settle the matter discreetly and without too much fuss, he'll go on an entitlement-fueled "So what are you gonna do about it, sue me?! That's lame! You should be thankful I stole your design, anyway!" series of Twitter-rants.

I'm gonna guess this has already been said, but if not...
The Musicman Bongo was designed by BMW. With the help of MM of course, but it was part of a challenge the car company gives to its designers. They are given projects that are out of their wheelhouse -- or something like that. What's interesting is you can kinda tell once you know about it.

As a long time Honda fanboy I was in the process of replacing the Yamaha logo with a Honda one on my BB but ended up giving it away before I did it.

Not sure what you mean by missed opportunity. They made it a convertible. I think i read somewhere it was easier to see the actors that way.
After a little internet research I find this:
- The first two 2000GTs to be used in the film were coupes (similar to that pictured above) but it soon became apparent that Sean Connery was too tall to comfortably fit in the car and filming of the interior shots proved tricky.
- As a result, Toyota created two 2000GT roadsters to ensure the film crew could capture all the shots they needed. These were the only open-top 2000GT ever officially produced.

I honestly had no idea they used it in the movie! My "Film Geek" cred just gained a big ol' demerit!! 
In my defense, I haven't seen the movie in decades. Plus, in all the 007 film roundups and documentaries, I can't recall them ever mentioning Bond driving a Toyota. Seriously and for truly, I saw the car and thought, "Wow! Connery should've driven that in his one and only Bond film set in Japan."
So, I'll leave it up to you; does that gut-instinct urge to pair the two together ameliorate the demerit for not knowing the real-life detail? (Speaking as someone who used to work in the video industry, albeit on the street-level/customer-facing-side, this is actually important to me.
