Viking, they just released their bass cases, so I'd say they're still in business. Must just not be developing new bass lines at the moment I guess. Send them an e-mail and see if you get a reply.

What bass cases did they just release? I have had a traben hardshell and soft case for over 2 years. You got a link to newer ones? I googled traben cases and only found the same ones I have.

The shop I ordered mine from gave me the impression they had just released them. He had trouble getting pricing info on them from the distributor since they were new he said. Nice case except the tolex is paper thin and scratches very easily.

Picked up a John Moyer Standard 5. This thing is a beast. Yeah, I like Disturbed, but I didn't get the thing because of that. I got it because it sounds absolutely huge and is quite versatile. And in my usual "I can't ever leave things the way they are" fashion, I added the coil taps, so it's even more versatile. One great thing about it is that it's not gaudy obvious that it's someone's "signature" model. Just a little signature on the truss rods cover. No huge inlays or band logos - nothing. Just did a show with it, and other than a bit of a glitch in the output jack (which I fixed before soundcheck) it was the best sounding gig I've ever done. To me the thing looks like the bastard child of an EB-MM StingRay and a Gene Simmons Punisher. My guess is that was Moyer's plan.

Looking at an Array Limited 5 to add to my arsenal as well.

Are all Trabens nowadays made in Indonesia and the like? I'm trying to date my Kore, and I really have no idea of the production run of that model, and I haven't got a clue whether or not Trabens have serial numbers (mine doesn't). I'm at least the third owner of this Kore, and so far as I can venture, I'll say it's at least 10 years old. What I do know is that this particular instrument went on tour with Janet Jackson a while back.

Cool looking bass Bedrock! Any electronic differences stock between that and a Chaos Core? They seem to look pretty much the same. Also want to ask why the coil taps if you have that 5-way selector switch. Maybe I'm not understanding tapping correctly or how you did it.

Viking, which Sansamp are you feeding? BDDI or the PDDI? I use the Paradriver with my Fender P mostly set up as a compressor, but never used it with the Trabens yet.

Feed me your settings, I'd love to try them out!

I'm using the Sansamp VT which is a great little pedal. Not sure if the settings transfer to the para-driver of BDDI but if you want them I can forward them onto you?

Well done mate. The Havoc has probably the loudest output and biggest sound of any bass I have ever owned. Thats thanks to the Rockfield pre-amp. If you're into Hardcore / Metal / Punk then seriously check this bass out. The coil split option comes as standard on the more expensive version with the Aguilar pre-amp but to my ears, for live work, the Rockfield sounds better - For recording, I think the Aguialr is better. I use mine through a valve Trace combo and the sounds is massive. Honestly, it has to be heard to be believed.

Hmm, forward them onto me please. The knobs are similarly labeled so it will be interesting to experiment. Definitely a beginning to work from.

Just noticed by looking up the pedal that Tech 21 came out with a Deluxe version of the VT that now takes 2 bass inputs and gives you 3 or 6 programmable setting much like their Bass Drive Deluxe pedal does.

Yes, mine is the Standard - Rockfield pre-amp and 3-way switch. I'd prefer to be able to switch on the fly anyway with as-needed configurations - both single coil, one hum and one single, etc. Yes, that pre-amp is hella hot!! I had to back down the pot on the pre-amp itself all the way just so it didn't overdrive everything I plugged it into.

A-hah! Now I understand. The Core is different with the 5-way switch. I should have looked at the schematics. Thanks for the info.

The settings on my Sansamp are:

High = 2 o'clock
Mid = 10 o'clock
Low = 2 o'clock
Character = 12 o'clock
Drive = 12 o'clock

I've seen the programmable VT and it looks pretty tasty. I really only use mine for recording, as live, my valve Trace Elliot seems to allow me to get the right amount of drive and eq'ing without the use of any pedals.

You mean a mini-pot on the preamp itself, controling gain?

If so, awesome!

Yep, that is correct. Signal is still crazy hot. It's definitely a hard rock machine.

Also I did get that Array Limited but it seems to have an issue with the preamp. It just sounds like a dying battery even with a brand new one, and there's zero tone control from either 3 EQ pots. It's a G&B preamp. Fantastic bass though. Love that 5 piece laminated neck.

I believe the higher end version of the Moyer (with the trans satin finish) has a 5 way blade switch to use to tap, so I guess they used the same pickups in both models. Those other two wires on each pickup just sitting there covered up with heat shrink .... I just had to release the hounds!!
