I was gonna say it couldn't be a Core because the headstock would be backwards then. Of course they do drive on the wrong side of the road over there in the UK, so maybe the put their headstocks on backwards too!

Sorry to go back a topic or two, but John Moyer actually wanted them backwards. He thought it looked better. Saw it in a Traben promo video. lol

Ordered my Chaos Core, should be here by Friday. I'll post my pics then.

Nice nice nice!

What a score, you've definatly scored a lucky factory screw up, weather Friday Evening, or Monday morning someone slipped some sig model electronics into a standard, or someone jumped the gun and gave you a BC Rich sig with a Traben tag.....

Regardless, it's awesome and congrats! :D

This is kinda old, but that's not true about it being a screw up. I've had a gloss black Moyer signature, had it a couple of years ago before they started "officially" producing them. I thought like you do that all the "Signature" basses were black vapor so I wrote to Todd Rockfield, who suggested I look to see if it's an Aguilar pre-amp, which is was, and which verified it was the Signature model. He then told me it was a proto-type at that time, and wouldn't say more about it except to tell me that they sold EVERYTHING they made (Traben). I've since seen a number of these and they look just like the standard model about the only difference is the pre-amp.

Just FWIW.

Today I got Chaos Core 5-strings. It does not have reversed headstock of "Signature" but salesperson told me that pre-amp is Aguilar. After reading this tread I opened up back cover to make sure and there it is - everything as described. So - "Core" has updated pre-amp as "Signature" does? Sorry if I missed it in posts earlier - too many of them.
I should probably ask for number..
Can I get one?

A really nice one, but it has its problems.
Once I've removed the paint from the neck cavity, the sound improved so greatly, that my jaw dropped on the floor. Sustain improved as well. Without the coat of paint, the neck's better working with the body - that's a fact multiple times proven.
But the problem is that no I cannot set the neck properly - the action is high, but strings nevertheless ring on the frets. I need to visit my befriended luthier I'm afraid. Anyway, I love this bass and I'd never give it away.

Hey guys i got a question for the Chaos Obsession guys. I have one i use a backup bass for my Array. While i love the Chaos' sound, its volume level is just weak weak weak, compared to my Array. I have tried to raise the pickup's by unscrewing the screws on them but they dont move. Anyone know how i can get some more volume out of the bass. Otherwise I am seriously considering selling this thing for another Traben of some kind. I would love an Array OB 4 string. But un sure if its just as quiet as the other Chaos OB i have.

Oh snap! Lol I'll have to check. i honestly haven't opened up the cover on it once. The array is like stupid loud with the volume all the way up and the amp at 12 O'Clock but with the OB all the way up i have to turn the amp to 8 to even get close but the volume is still just not there. Hopefully it has a gain on it. I'll check, is there any way to raise the pickups on these basses?

I was thinking of taking it off and putting something under it to raise it but not sure what to do.

Sweet, thanks for the number, glad to be part of the group.

i had a quick question about the truss rod, I had been drooling over these basses for months when my wife ordered mine and got it for my birthday this year. i really liked the sound but it had a bit of feed back and i wanted to finishing the "blackout" look with the Black Nylon wraps. i really like the thump that comes with the nylon strings as well. but as for my question, when i got the strings put on i had the guitar tech take a good look at the setup because this bass was not purchased from a store and the neck had a back bow to it, after reading on here this seems pretty common, does Traben ship the basses this way on purpose or is it just an initial flaw?

TL;DR : does Traben ship basses with the truss rod loose by design?

Mooch, open the back cover and see if the preamp has a tiny gain pot on it. If so, crank it up!! My Array Limited doesn't but my Moyer Havoc does.

No gain pots on the G&B preamps in these things. The preamps seems to be setup so as to be hardly noticeable when you switch between active and passive. Hardly a bump in volume at all.

BTW, Mooch, how fast does yours burn through batteries? Mine is an absolute hog!
