Would the Traben Core 5 be a good bass for hardcore/screamo in the vein of Escape the Fate, Alesana, Enter Shikari, and The Fall of Troy?

Traben Core 5 for Screamo?

there was a review of the Traben chaos core 5 here. if you do a little search, you can ask the owner. The bass player of Disturbed plays one (although probably modified, and big signal chain). I dont see why not for hardcore tbh. 35'' scale dual humbuckers, allegedly big sustain, OBP3, dual truss rod, looks like a quality instrument. Also there is a signature version for a metal bass player (Gregg Weeks).
In the same vein, look up the ATK 305.

the core is greg weeks signature, who plays in The Red Chord... they're sort of a metalcore/death metal/grindcore medley, no emo involved, but considering his sound it should be fine for you.
honestly calling any of those bands "hardcore" is an insult to black flag; they're easily influenced by hardcore (especially Converge) but they're definitely metalcore or screamo. not that i have any problem with those genres (they're not my favourite but i don't bash them).

To the OP, yes this bass will work. You want to play xXxCorexXx and the bass has "Core" in the name. Yup. Will work.
There's actually about three or four variations on the Chaos Core, the Greg Weeks signature is but one, and John Moyer signature Havoc is a variation of the Chaos Core too, and yet again there is a discontinued model called the Kore(said like the name Kori), which the OP could be mentioning.
Disregarding the name of the bass or music, most basses can be used in most types of music anyway, of course there's the obvous ones that can't, but its pretty much free and easy in most genres.

I agree, although I would have to add on that if you are looking into a more hardcore direction that you should probably focus on your sound and tone instead of the specific bass. This is mostly preference based, but you will most likely want to have a real deep, squashing sound for the breakdowns if that's what your aiming for OR more of a mid-heavy tone if your thinking about playing with a lot of technicality instead of groove.
But honestly, you should make your own decision as to what kind of bass and sound you want regardless dude, because you want to be unique with your sound and playing. And thats especially important in such a diverse and widely played genre as hardcore, you want to stand out man.
