I own a Traben Kore 5. What's my take on it?

Sound? Very trebly, very modern. I think it's an average sounding bass - not bad, not great. Once I got a Bongo, it became my back-up, back-up bass. I take it out occasionally at gigs because it's so interesting looking (I get a lot of compliments on its look)

Heavy! It's a heavy mother.

Heh, maybe the extra weight is from the bridge; I mean they're huge! :P

I'm considering sticking some barts in my Traben Phoenix once I've finishing building my five string... It's an awesome bass, I payed about £300 for the bass then about £50 for the hardcase, really low action without much buzz, very versatile too. Not very good at doing a smooth tone, and the bridge pickup distorts a bit with the mids turned up.

hey guys, new to the forum, but i know how to search... didn't want to bring up a really old thread, so i figured i'd just bump this one.

i've seen a lot of talk of the traben's being a good bass for the money ($500-$700 range).

So I assume it'd be a great deal to get a Traben Torrent for $200? I'm replacing my first bass (got it from a friend when i wanted to learn to play). I can spend more than $200, but if this is a great deal, i won't pass it up.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well, went ahead and bit the bullet after playing it in store.

I really like it. The torrent doesn't have the huge flame bridge like the other trabens (which I admit, are pretty gaudy unless you're in a metal band), but it still has a unique look. but it also plays great! The neck really has a great feel, and it's sounding good.

so far, i'm happy with my purchase, especially at that price.

I just read Musicians Fiend are closing out the Traabens at a good price. Defintely not my cup of tea, but you youngsters may like em.
Hey, I'm 50 and I kind of like the bridge on my Kore, but maybe I'm just going thru a mid-life thing - ya think?
