Trace Elliot at NAMM???

I asked about the new TE line in th "wheres all th NAMM pics" thread, and that was the only response I got. Only thing I can gather from it is Clive was talking to someone from Orange. Wheather or not the new TE line was there is still a mystery.

Sorry burnt man, my remark was actually meant for j-raj. He let us brothers down by not bugging Clive atleast a little bit. Hear me j-raj?

What I would've done to have been at that booth... now all we need is a TB "Make a new V-Type" petition. I rekon it would sell hundreds if not thousands, the prices and demand for V8s shows that. Basically they should take the V8, give it the new Trace look, work the old fuse and other issues and maybe up the power just to make it even sweeter. Heck basically all we want is a V8 reissue.

Okay - let's get this right: Pre-shape, EQ, compressor, mute. That's taken from the TE website.
I was pretty close...forgot the mute.

The Trace booth was very close to our booth. Twelve years ago Paul, Clive and I were affiliated with the same company so we spoke quite a bit.

At this time they don't have plans for tube heads. Also, they are planning for very limited distribution in the U.S. Peavey's desire is do only sell these in to select boutique/pro shops.

I spoke with Paul quite a bit on amp design.....he's a real gentleman. The amps they had on display were still all pre-production samples so I didn't ask to play them. Kind of a code amongst product managers is that you don't ask to play somebody's pre-production piece.

Based on our discussions though on design, I would expect these to sound like the Trace of days gone by. Even as a competitor, I'm glad to see them back.
