Over here you generally get the Trace combos (1x15/4x10) and they are the biggest load of crap if you like older sounds...I couldn't ever get a decent sound out of the bloody things coz they all appeared to be scooped mids with the EQ bands in completely the wrong frequencies...my Ashdown mag is 100 times better tone-wise, but thats just me!

Truth be told, I have not played many of the Trace combos, other than my Twin Valve Combo (which I just love, btw).
The setup I played was an older one. It was a 1x15 combo (not sure of wattage but had to be at least 300w) and a 4x10 cab was connected to it. No matter what I did with the eq section, nothing changed! I'll assume there was a problem with the eq section of the amp!

Thought so, my band practice there twice a week and im usually praying for the ampeg rig as everything else is cheap tat! But ive started driving up there now as im based in Dudley, its not that far so might start taking my Mesa head! With the 80s 8x10!
I've never found a sound I liked with trace stuff. It seemed to have a boxy, nasal kind of sound to it, kinda peaveyish. It was also unbelievably pricey. That being said, I have heard guys get good sounds out of them, I just couldn't.
