Trace Elliot Gain Problem?

Hi,

Not sure if it's me or the amp. I have a Trace AH7 300W head that I gig with. When I set up, I turn everything up full on my bass, then adjust the gain so the light just clips into the red as I hit the bass the hardest.

Later in the gig, I'll look at the amp and see it's flying into the red most of the time, so I have to turn down the gain, and the volume up.

Is this due to adrenaline kicking in, is there a problem with the amp, or is this normal, as the preamp heats up?

+1. You're just getting into the music more, and playing harder.

It happens to a lot of players...adrenaline kickin' in.

It's a good thing to have a look at your input once the gig started, then you can turn down the gain if it's a little too high.

Again, everything's normal.
