Trace Elliot - Yay or Nay?

Bit of a zombie thread resurrection, but doing a search for old Trace gear, as there's loads up for sale over here in England on Facebook marketplace.
Scored this locally for £125. Perfect for rehearsals, immaculate condition, and sounds awesome.

Does anyone have any experience with the GP12 SMX 4x10 Combo? I was looking for something that I could rely on for both rehearsals and gigs but primarily use with a DI to an interface at home. There is a good price on it (going for $250) where I live, but I'm just worried about it being super-duper heavy. Plus I live up multiple stairs in an apartment complex.

Only reference I have now are some pictures, but I'll get to try it out tomorrow and see. They also mentioned it's been serviced recently. Here's what it looks like, aesthetically a bit worn out but its alright.

Do you think its too heavy to lug around for rehearsals approximately twice a week? Like three flights of stairs each trip?

It's doable, but everyone's back is different. If it's in good mechanical condition, it's a great deal. Check it out.

"Serviced recently" would have me a little skeptical. Sounds more like "had a problem recently". Maybe it was fixed well and maybe it was fixed just enough to work for a while.

My guess is that combo goes over 100 lbs. I believe the 410 cab alone is in the 100 lb ballpark. Any stairs would be cause for concern and three flights a nonstarter….for my situation.

It's definitely a heavy unit. It's probably going to be a deal breaker for me with how much carrying I need to do when I rehearse. At home I won't even be able to use the cabs.

I owned one and an additional Trace 4x10 cab, just for info sake, the regular 4x10 cab has more volume and is thicker in width from front to back than the 4x10 combo. Sounded good. Especially good subtle cone breakup using the tube and an Ernie Ball Stingray5.

Removable caster wheels are your friend.

Ok, I'll be the lone Nay here. Weird scooped tone, but solid and loud, tho smoked by Ampeg in my grindy mid range world.

Responsible for many a hunched bassist. The signature tone never did much, though I did like their Thiele cabs.
