Trace Elliot

British Audio Service recommends the Celestion BL15-250 for the 1153 cabs, and OEM replacements for the 1518 cabs.

Celestion may also have OEM recone kits available. Check with a local reconing service.

I use a 350 watt Trace Elliot GP12SMX running through two TE1518 cabs....when one of my speakers started farting out from low B I searched all over for a replacement. Contacted TE (back then in 2000) They dont sell to the public is what I was told. I hear theyve changed hands since. Apologies in advance to Peavey owners but their amp sounds are not for me so I set about selecting an available speaker that could handle that low B. I took my bass AND TE head to several stores and ran it through many different cabs.

Take this for what its worth but the speaker cab that sounded the best was one with a 350watt "Eminance 15" " so I got my local music store to order me one, installed it in the old trace cab with just a minor hole pattern mod and Ive been more than happy with it ever since

I think i will recone as to make sure the speaker will fit. No satisfaction from Trace elliot (peavy) or any other speaker maker!! The problem is that the rim of the Trace Elliot speaker is very thin By this i mean when you put another speaker like Eminence you can't clamp the speaker down Its the cardboard rim of the speaker that is to thick to fit Thanks everyone
