well, that's kinda strange because you actually can hear the difference with the 2n2 connected to the source instead of at lug 3 and that's even thru my 215 cab with no tweeters and the treble on my amp set flat.

Yes I believe you...I'm just saying it's not the transistor that is causing it, but rather removing the cap from the 27k.

Have any of you guys been able to compare the trace to the PCB Mad Professor version? That version seems to get very little love here on TB but Johnk kind of liked it right?

Thinking I need one of these and a Barbershop... And then I can be done with Overdrive for a bit.

yes, I do like the Mad Professor one too. I have an original and a clone of it.as you probably know, it's a much higher gain version of the 3BOD.

Some folks here will remember that I de-gooped a Blueberry a few years ago, and got started tracing it. I got bored with the effort and quit; so it's good you had the perseverance to follow through with yours!

What number is your pedal? I'm wondering if it was an evolution, or a one off. It seems the CA3130 is consistent in many of the BJFE designs.
