I stop by the G/C that I bought my new Fender standard jazz mim last week today and they have 2 Geddy Lee's. Well after talking with them they talked me in to playing it, real nice bass. But here is the question, they offer to trade for either one. One has a small chip on the body in the back for $700 or the other one which is perfect for $750. So is it worth $300 more for the Geddy Lee as I'm just learning the bass but I'm loving it so I don't think I'll be putting it down soon. What do you guys think?

Trade a jazz for a Geddy Lee?

I have 2 MIM Fenders, 3 MIA Fenders, an Indonesian Squier VM and a Geddy Lee Jazz.....
....the Geddy is my go to gigging bass.
It just plays and sounds so good.
I wish it wasn't in the shop with a bowed neck and siezed nut on the truss rod though!

It's up to you. But I think your getting a decent deal. The Geddy is about $799 new and the MIM Jazz is about $419. If you're only adding $300 I would say you're not losing anything you put into it.
Just tell her the list price is like $1150.00 and you got it for only $700, so you saved $450.
Oh yeah, and tell her when you get home with it....not before you go.

That sounds like that saying where the guy goes. "I used to pray everyday for a bicycle untill I realized that it didn't work that way. It was esier to steal the bike and then ask for forgivness". Or something real close to that.

Labor Day sale price at Arlington, TX GC for a Geddy was $712.80 out the door. Tax and all.
Edit: GC will likely come off any tag price if you're willing to haggle with them. If they won't meet the price I was quoted now, I bet they will at the end of year.

Nope. I don't have hemi money. I did build it to look like the super stokers but it's just got a 440.
I sold my Fender MIA Jazz and bought a Geddy instead. I changed the pickups for custom '60s and never looked back....
This poor guy is thinking about buying a G Lee and you post that, LOL!
