Trade ampeg for gk or sell?

So I've got a decision.

I've been trying to get rid of my USA made Ampeg B410hlf for some time.

Now I've got two great offers on the table.

I can either :

Trade for a gallien krueger 8x10 goldline GLX cab..

Or..

Sell the cab for 275$ cash.

The cash sounds nice cuz there is a mint American made fender jazz bass for 400$ for sale at a local pawn shop.

But the idea of having the 8x10 for when I need more power than my ampeg svt410hlf classic series can give me sounds great too.

Ideas opinions welcome

I would sell.

I like GK gear, but I'm really only a fan of their RBX and Neo cabs.
IIRC, the Goldline stuff was made specifically for Guitar Center in their US factory and "better" than their Backline series. Its generally thought by players to be their lower line stuff though.
Whether any of that is true doesn't change the fact that most players have a stigma against it and it would be a tough sell down the road if you ever wanted to get rid of it.

I'm gonna go with my gut (and all the great advice here) and sell.

I've never liked any gallien krueger cab I've ever played, back line, neo 410, neo 412. I was hoping the goldline 810 would be different but everything I've heard and read says otherwise.

And yeah, the pawn shop has had this mint condition jazz bass for 2 years listed at 900$. After talking to them for a bit he admitted he'd accept 400.

Im gonna use the money from the sell to replace the busted stereo in my car. Then use money from two high paying gigs this weekend to grab the jazz!

Why can you only get $275 for your cab? Just because someone said "I'll give you $275 for it"? Any pro level 4x10 by a reputable company in decent shape should be worth a MINIMUM of $350, and usually more like $400 and up.

Put that thing on CL for $450 and see what happens.

If you don't want to do that, see if the pawn shop would do an even trade at least.

Ah, but the problem is the cab isn't a pro level cab. It's an ampeg, but it's the "B" series. To be specific, it's a USA made ampeg B410hlf.

It's a decent cab, but a beginner cab in my opinion. I had it for hardly two months before I (just had to) upgraded to an SVT410hlf.

On top of that, when I bought "b" series cab, I only paid 580$ for the cab and an svt3pro. I know, a steal!! :p

So 275$ or 270$, whatever we actually agreed on, isn't a bad selling price.

Keep in mind that the Goldline is actually GK's low end stuff. The RBX and Neo cabs are a step up. I used to have the Backline cabs (these were before Goldline was made) and they didn't last. However, I've had a pair of GK NEO 212's for about 8 years now and they're still going strong. Good luck!
