Transcribe vrs. Amazing slow downer

But when the audio quality is better you also hear it better and that makes it easier to transcribe. But if YouTube works for you then it’s fine. I use it too, but for some things it’s not good enough.

LOL well considering back in the day you hit play and rewind on a cassette deck, or had to try and drop the needle on the vinyl in the same general area... it is more than good enough.

You can use an app I made for the same purpose as ASD.
Why did I make it? So you can use Youtube videos (paste in the link/ID) and load them directly into a web app.

You can set loops, tweak them, shift them back and forth, half and double the length and save them.
Working on an improved version 2 at the moment...

can you also transpose the YouTube video (in half steps)?

The web app is awesome!!!

Just checked it. The web app works great but it really needs a transpose function. Because you can already slow down in YouTube itself. A transpose function would make it much more useful.

Will version 2 have the transpose option?
Yeah, but unless I’ve missed it, you can’t natively loop in YouTube which this app lets you do.

Yes but I don’t use the looping function much. Transposing on the other hand I do. To me that’s much more useful than looping.
That makes sense. Just a suggestion while waiting to see if that feature gets added, I have a Helix Stomp in my practice room and a Digitech Drop on my pedal board, both which can quickly transpose my bass to whatever relative key I need for learning a song in the correct position on the fretboard. It’s really fast.

I was just about to pull the trigger on the full version of ASD when I thought of perusing the threads here.

I'm glad I did, because Mantekka's LoopTube seems just perfect for my needs. Nothing to download, just enter the url of the youtube video, then pick the portion I want to loop and the speed I want. And I can save them to come back to later!

Thanks a million*, mantekka!

*not literally.
