Traynor bassmaster and ampeg

I have a traynor bassmaster head and I just acquired an ampeg 8x10 and I was wondering if they can be used together. I've looked up the impedance for the bassmaster but have found different answers so wondering if any one actually knows the output impedance for the head

I've got a Bassmaster MKII and it's 8ohm..

The reason you find different answers is because I don't think they are very rigid in the load requirements. I have run Bassmasters, both the YBA-1 and the mark II, YBA-1A with 4 ohm and 8 ohm loads, for years. You should have no issues whatsoever pushing 4 ohms. I have never tried 2 ohms, and wouldn't recommend it without some confirmation, but it wouldn't surprise me if they could handle that as well. (if it's the higher powered Mark II, it will have "bass master Mark II" printed on the front, and YBA-1A somewhere on the back panel.)

Awesome thanks for all the advice. My main concern was damaging the cab seeing as its not mine. But I think it should be fine

Bassmasters are rated at about 45 and 90 watts (YBA-1 and 1A). You would have to really work at it to blow an Ampeg fridge.

But, as stated, you are very unlikely to hurt the head and definitely won't hurt the cab.
