Treble Bleed Mod For P-Bass

Has anyone tried the treble bleed bypass mod for a passive pbass?

I wonder how well it works, if someone has had good success with it please post!

I'm curious on which value capacitor and resistor (if any) you settled for.

I just installed that circuit into a passive bass with a single volume pot. I used a 0.001uF cap and a 100 kilo ohm - 1/4 watt resistor wired in series and not parallel as some do. From the response curves I saw on the web series looks most natural to my eyes and sounds great to me in my bass. No more loss of highs when I turn the volume down. I plan to add it to a few more of my basses.

All my basses have a treble bleed. I see it as an essential feature on a passive bass.
Without it the volume knob is pretty much impossible to use other than as an on/off switch in a live setting.
It also allows you to give a slight boost of highs in your tone by lowering volume.

I was thinking of using a .001uf cap + 150k resistor in parallel.

That's the standard configuration. I used what I could find at my local Radio Shack.

You can start with a .001 cap and the resistor would generally be half of the pot value. Good quality pots also help and you can experiment with series parallel wiring to find the sweep you like. Be sure to use a heat sink (alligator clip) on the cap legs when soldering.
