Got mine today from G&L - what a great price at $300.

All I need now is a Tort plate.

When I got a deal on a "blem" from AMS I jumped on the deal. It was around $450 if memory serves. Best of all, it weighed well under 9 pounds. I weighed it when I got it on my postal scale and it was around 8.5 lbs. That was acceptable. So, I put aside my previous criticisms of the model (aka "ate my words").

Then, I posted about wanting a tort pick guard and a regular on TB came through with a mint one! I really love this short scale. It relegated my Sterling short scale to the seldom used category. Strung with Thomastick Jazz Rounds (same as my L2K), it's a blast to play.

Oh, and the "blem" turned out to be a bad solder joint at the toggle switch. A minute with a soldering gun and all was as good as new.

Did you get your Fallout direct from G&L? I know they were selling seconds at crazy prices not too long ago. Regardless, $300 is amazing for one of these basses. Good luck with it and your search for a tort guard.

Yeap - ordered mine direct from G&L. Hopefully I can find a tort for her.

I got mine about a month ago too. I certainly can't find anything that would make it a B stock instrument, mine is flawless. I did clip the resistor on the switch in the OMG mode position because it shunts one of the coils, a bit, and creates a hum in that parallel mode setting, with it out in the circuit no hum at all. Enjoy

You should be able to get one direct from G&L. I emailed Memo Romero and in a couple of days he responded with a link and pricing.

I just had dumb luck getting mine.

Did you just clip one end of the resistor or take it out completely.

I just clipped one side of it. It eliminates the hum you get in OMG mode with the resistor in place, you can always solder it back. I just finished a month of the musical Sister Act using the Fallout and it played and sounded great.
I'm extremely pleased with the bass. I also added a zero glide nut and changed out the tuners for some Hipshots that I already had. It's my go to 4 string

Thanks - what model tuners did you get. Also did you get the ZS-18 zero glide nut?

HB-1 with non tapered string posts. That way you can get a better string break behind the nut by getting the string winding all the way to the bottom of the post. I hate the stock tuners taper so high up, especially the a string
