~Have just looked it up on the G and L website and it says parallel/split/OMG modes so from that it sounds like one of the modes is in fact split coil like a P bass and not single coil
The term 'split' is open to interpretation.
I think that it means just one of the two coils, and each coil spans all of the strings, so it's not like a regular P split pickup, instead like a Gibson guitar humbucker, or any other brand which uses that methodology.
The two sections of a standard passive P split pickup are already wired in series by default, so how could we get a different wiring for each of two other modes, if that was our interpretation of 'split' ?
