Tricked Out Squier Club Part 3

When I brought home both my Jag and VMJ 70, the bridge spacing sucked, especially in relation to the magnets on the bridge pup.

So i ordered the American standard thru type bridge and swiped the parts to the E and G to use the offset cuts in the saddles to correct that.
Retained the ole tin bridge, had to drill it out to use the slightly larger screws.
Helped take some of the "ting" out of the G and resulted in a nice clean tone.



And an awesome Quarter pounder fell into the bridge pup spot on that VMJ...balanced the output of the pups nicely

Hello all....here is one of my modded Squier basses. The body I got from Denny (Master Bass) and the neck was purchased from 'the bay"and as you can see neck is from Squier Jaguar with blocks,,no fret buzz,,nice and straight. Pickips are Duncans,,bridge is Chinese highmass style. Also strap locks installed.

Wow, that is sweet. I am picking up the same bass shortly, and I think I will emulate your exact design...very nice.

Squier VM Fretless. Replaced plastic nut with bone, replaced bridge with Badass II, replaced pickups with Seymour Duncan Antiquity IIs. Last thing is to sand out the flaws in the fingerboard and get it level and it should be all sweet.

I did a little mod on my VM 70 jazz.

Just a little recap before i blow your minds with my latest mod.

  • Babicz bridge
  • SD Quarter Pounders
  • CTS pots
  • Orange Drop cap
  • Switchcraft jack
  • Series/Parallel toggle switch
  • Copper tape shielding & new wiring

Ok, now time for the new mod.
My bass fell out of a crappy, wall mountable, guitarhook in my friends studio. My bass landed directly on the strap knob. bent it out of shape. i pissed my pants.
I checked it out and just the strap was bent. and a little ding.

Looking for a new set of strap knobs and thought what the hell... Time for flush mounted Dunlop StrapLok's.

I think it looks pretty damn sweet.
Had to remove the neck for the second one. But putting the neck back gave me a little more resonance. I think it was a good call to take it out of the cavity, clean the saw dust out and tighten the screws properly.
