Quite hot indeed. Fender Super 55 split coil pups and a Bass Mods preamp (active/passive) with 3-band EQ

Furthermore a black Badass II bridge, Boston pearl white pickguard, Fender thumbrest and pickup cover, artificial block inlays (decals) and a customized logo (with special thanks to Nick303)

The Rotosound strings on the pics have meanwhile been changed by DR fatbeams.

That's about it for now.

Haven't posted my customized Squier Jazz Bass here yet I believe :

WHERE did you find a FOUR-POT control plate for a Jazz? Or did you order a plain plate and drill it out yourself? This would really open up some switch options for me, as I'm adding a Variometer to my VM 70's Jazz, but would still like to control the amount of "tone" from the 6 choices that would give me.

This would really open up some switch options for me, as I'm adding a Variometer to my VM 70's Jazz, but would still like to control the amount of "tone" from the 6 choices that would give me.

Thanks! It's a slim taper with the graphite stiffening rods, so it's pretty light and ought to be really fast. I really like the feel of the unfinished goncalo alves. I'll lay everything out for some pics when I've sourced the black control plate. I'm having a local luthier do the build since since I'm not terribly handy and I really don't want to goober it up.

Good luck with that. I have been trying to find that but it is near impossible.

It seems like you want to have an extra pot? Like an extra tone control or something?

You might want to dril a hole for a side mounted jack like the deluxe basses. It's an easy mod.

It's "just" a Squier Affinity neck with artificial block inlays (decals) and a customized logo

Actually the black BA-II bridge was the very first upgrade on this bass. It seemed like a good idea at the time

They are indeed. I think they sound great and you can't touch their band for the buck.

So my "tricked-out" SQuier Bullet has a pair of SCPB pickups "bucked-up" next to each other in the sweet spot. As you might imagine it sounds pretty focused. The other day I put on these coated strings for the heck of it.....WOW...now it's just big, nasty and a lot more fun!

The bass is a real wreck but it's got a great neck, it sounds huge and it weighs in at just under 8lbs. I've still got some tweaking to do with the electronics but it's sure getting there.

I'm sad to report that I'm still going to be "picking" at it, at least until I get the electronics dialed-in a bit better.
