Huh, any benefits from this? They're wound like how my Fender came from the factory, and if I wound them the other way, it looks like they might put an angle on the nut and maybe not fit under the string retainer.

Anyway, what kind of strings are they?
I have D'Addario tapewounds on one bass but they don't have red windings.

Currently hot-rodding my Squier 20th anniversary Precision Standard. It has the P/J setup. I did a shielding job on all cavities, installed DiMarzio P/J pickups, fret polish and total set up along with the usual CTS pots, Orange drop cap, and Switchcraft jack. This thing sounds amazing, and has ZERO hum! I do open mic nights at the local dive bar, and don't want to leave an expensive MusicMan or Rickenbacker where it might walk away. The pickups cost more than the bass, but I feel it's been very worthwhile. It was gonna be modified for BEAD tuning, but it turned out so nicely, I may just have to buy another.........

Yeah, Labella tapewounds. They came installed on it and I wasn't sure if I'd like them but I love they way they feel and sound!

Great! Would love to see it after is done. Did some search on this stuff and didn't find anything on covering a guitar but did see plenty of other stuff that it's used for, seems to be popular in car dashboards.

Thought you might like an update. I still have to put the dark green striping on it yet, to offset the Ivy Leaf Gold base it had. But here's the basic job. One word of warning, when doing a wrap, take your time, especially around the horns and on the waist cuts. A little heat relaxation for the vinyl helps too, when you apply it judiciously. This color is White Aluminum in 3M 1080 Wrap Film and is 4mil thick. Hope that helps.

The back was painted already, and I liked the color with the silver and the dark green pinstripe, so I kept it. But yes, you can wrap the back.

Done a few more mods on my Chi-Sonic Squier.

Replaced the three knob control plate with a two knob stacked one yesterday.
More tonal control and it just looks so nice.
