The 'ThunderJag' is still one of my favorites. I enjoyed playing it (great neck!) and going down memory lane with the Thunderbird (replica) pickups for a while, but ended up selling it because it was too 'rock & roll' for what I play these days...

OK, I am DONE this time...really, I am. Got a Fender Hi-Mass (BAIII) from ASATMAN (thanks!) in one of our Cabronita dealings and it just HAD to go on here. So as it stands, MIM Cabronita neck and vintage reverse tuners, Duncan Quaterpounder, pots and jack, pearl pick guard, knobs and thumb rest, and Fender Hi-Mass bridge. Pretty much the body is all that's left LOL but I have a new project on the way so I can leave this one alone now.

Love the note stickers on the Jaguar. Does it help? I might consider doing that...

At first the note stickers got confusing to read while playing. But after a week of practicing with the jaguar. It became easier to read the fretboard and play really good bass lines. In a way, its like connecting the dot. But for $5 on ebay. Its worth a try.

New project quandary here...snagged a new project from Street Scenes, who did the delightful paintwork, and I'm a bit stumped as to go "hot rod" on it like my other CV51 or "vintage." Hot rod being like a BadAss II, Quarter Pounder P/U, etc, or Vintage being bent metal bridge with all the covers, Antiquity P/U and strung up with flats. I slapped a one ply pick guard that was stock on my MIM Dirnt on to get an idea and have a 3 ply cream (c/b/c) ordered. I had originally planned on getting a MIM Cabronita or Dirnt neck for it but after a setup and some fret love, I am actually digging the neck so it may have a reprive. I am leaning towards "vintage", input anyone?

Oh no...I merely was dinking with guards...the fine *ss flake job was shot by fellow TB'er STREET SCENES!! He gets props on that. I'm just getting to do my thing now. I get the easy bolt on stuff this time around. No mess to clean up after... a cakewalk.

A few questions before I start digging into my Affinity Jazz Bass...

#1. I am interested in a Pick Guard from a Vintage Modified Jazz Bass. Will this fit my Affinity with no mods?
#2. If I can't get an off the shelf pick guard to fit my Affinity in a pattern I like, how do I go about making sure a custom ordered guard fits my instrument perfectly?
#3. I see lots of people talking about replacing the pots with 250K pots. Why?
#4. Is the High Mass bridge from the Classic Vibe 60s Jazz (The High Mass with brass saddles) a direct bolt on?
#5. Where are folks sourcing this conductive / shielding paint I hear about? Failing that, where is the best quality / price to be found for the copper tape?

Got the pick guard, pickups, and copper foil ordered. Still need the color match paint, bridge and water slide decal left.

It's actually for a Mike Dirnt Precision Bass. I don't know of anyone who makes one for a CV. I got it from WD. You just have to sand a little of the lower bout edge because it's a contoured body where a Dirnt isn't but it's like a painless 20 minute task and fits perfectly on all other sides and neck pocket.. I want to say between 50.00-60.00 bones if I recall. Just put Mike Dirnt in the search box on their site Invalid Link Removed to find the available colors/materials and pricing.

As I said in another thread, I do not believe the CV high mass bridge is a direct bolt on. The hole spacing is slightly different from what I've read on this forum.

Thanks - that is what I figured as the Dirnt is the only one I saw unless you get it custom made. I was hoping you had found some other magic for a little bit cheaper.

As I said in another thread, I do not believe the CV high mass bridge is a direct bolt on. The hole spacing is slightly different from what I've read on this forum.

I am prepared to fill and drill for the bridge. Found one and ordered it. Now I just need paint and decal.

Duncan Designed Vintage Modified pickups tracking shows they are in town with me, just not delivered yet...
Classic Vibe 60s bridge ordered, not yet shipped.
Copper foil tape for shielding. Ordered, not yet shipped.
Custom pick guard, ordered, not yet shipped.
Alder dowel stock. Plug cutters, and alder stock in my shop. Only use it if I need it...

Need to dig up the post that linked me to the Burgundy Mist paint,
Waterslide decal for headstock. Not yet ordered. Will order once I get the paint ordered.

Getting close to being able to have this ready to mod!
