Double Bass Troll Ribbon Mic

I've just finished building my own ribbon mic. It's in a very similar form factor as the Troll, just a bit longer perhaps. I'm trying to find the windscreen and ropes used on the Troll but so far he hasn't responded to my email. Can anyone tell me about these bands used to hold the mic under the bridge? Material, diameter, etc. The windscreen too. Thanks!

Is everyone using AI heads? I'd need to find a solution for replacing the Tone Hammer...

I've played a tour now with a jazz Group and had good results of just sending the Troll w/ Fethead to the mixer and from there to a stage monitor that I've kept on a chair.
Good sound!!
How could I get the same IF there's no PA or house mixer? Any ideas?

I picked up a Troll a couple weeks ago, and I really like it so far.

I did a recording session the other day, and I was shocked at how easy it was to get a great sound!

I've only done one live session with it, and it didn't sound very good, but the I've always had trouble in that room, so I'm not blaming the Troll.
This was with the Troll going directly into my AI Series III Coda R, no extension cab, no nothin'.

Kudos to Brandon!

This is my 1st post but I've been lurking in the shadows for awhile. I received the Troll along with FETHead today in the mail and have been playing with it all afternoon. I have to say I'm a pretty happy bass player right now. I'm running it through an AI Focus 2R and a Crazy 8 and the mic sounds great ...airy and clean with plenty of low end. When I first set it up I installed the FEtHead but couldn't get any sound without feeding back but as soon as I removed it, the sound was pretty easy to dial in. I'm assuming there is just to much gain with the FETHead and the AI preamp together. Wondering if anyone else experienced the same thing. I've been experimenting blending my FC with the Troll and loving every minute. The mic is a little more susceptible to feedback than the FC but its controllable with the HPF in AI. I'll be trying it out tomorrow night on an acoustic open mic gig and will report back. So far so good. Kudos to Brandon!

Screw it. I bought some replacement shockmount bands on amazon, and made my own alpaca wool felt windscreen because yeah, I felt. Just tried it through my AI and Crazy8 combo, very good results. I see this being the go-to recording set-up, but only for select gigs, if any. Even though I saved a lot by building my own mic, it's not something I'd want to repair or replace too often.
