I'm considering ordering a Trollmic. Is a Fethead necessary when plugging into an EA Doubler?
Anyone feel like there is a lack in the higher register, I feel like it's missing a bit a brightness. Am I the only one?
Still working on trying to find the optimum set up. I love the sound I'm getting from the E-A.
Yes. I've also noticed it.Anyone feel like there is a lack in the higher register, I feel like it's missing a bit a brightness. Am I the only one?

The Troll is a very workable Mic. It does favor the lower the low end of things sonicly. I have had better luck with an H Clamp which gives you more access to different locations.
Would be interested in seeing what you tried! The Troll is a very workable Mic. It does favor the lower the low end of things sonicly. I have had better luck with an H Clamp which gives you more access to different locations.
I would hesitate to mount anything that heavy on my tailpiece.
I've been thinking about adding a mic for the FOH for years and the H-clamp seems like the most consistent way to keep the mic in a sweet spot as opposed to that goose neck. Just my thoughts. I have pretty bad ADD, and the less I have to fuss with my setup, the better. This seems a nice accessory for mic users:

I have an H-Clamp so I don't need it, but I'd probably buy this otherwise. (although I don't use a mic at the moment)
The H-Clamp is a superior unit, for sure - but it's also about 3x the price. The BassOnStage was added as a lower cost, low-stress alternative, mostly for those folks who aren't as picky but need to amplify simply.I've been thinking about adding a mic for the FOH for years and the H-clamp seems like the most consistent way to keep the mic in a sweet spot as opposed to that goose neck. I'm experiencing a strange noise from The Troll when I'm using it with the H-Clamp.
The weird thing is, it isn't always audible so I'm wondering if it's the microphone picking up a resonance from the clamp...?
I was recording today and the sound was very audible at the start of pretty much every note.
