"Black Hole" was great! That one cute junker robot was a total hit, and they could make bank bringing him back.

Agreed. Probably the only detractor from that whole series. Woefully bad. And that after making the in-space fight sequences look so "real".

I for one think that CG has totally ruined a lot of good movie franchises. Its a tool that often is just used to make up for crappy directing and lack of creativity.

Hover, a black hole prequel could be very interesting. We should write a screenplay. Seems we are among the select few who know what the hell we are talking about.

I liked Black Hole and Tron and I'm glad that the trailer for the new Tron film at least looks promising. Whenever I see a sequel or update to a show or film I liked as a kid it makes me nervous. Not only can they do a crappy job with the new film, but if it is bad enough it makes me question how good the original was in the first place.

As much as I loved Star Wars as a kid, after the first "prequel" I rewatched the original three only to find that, while good, they weren't as good as I remembered, particularly because of the often terrible dialog.

I haven't seen Tron or Black Hole in probably 20 years, the last time probably when I was 10 or 11 and I'm not sure they'd hold up well, particularly Tron.

I love Tron -- both the movie and the video game. That said, they'd better have a killer story to pull this off. Granted, the movie will look fantastic with the current technology (that clip is awesome).

Black Hole is another one of my favorites from my childhood. Watching it now, it's hard to believe it was a Disney flick!

Yeah, the new light cycles are sick. I had one of the old school rip-cord racers, back in the day...so fun... I agree totally that the story just has to be there...is this another project that has been in development hell for a long while? If so, it would stand to hope it's because a fight for a quality story was paramount...

Am I remembering correctly that they had a 3D trailer for this in some recent Disney 3D film (maybe Alice)? Because I thought it kicked butt!

I think it was seeing that new lightcycles footage in 3D that made me come home and toss in the Tron DVD.

I remember how jazzed I was years ago when I first saw ads for Tron 2.0. What a cool and appropriate title! Unfortunately, it turned out to be a video game...

(I couldn't find my Black Hole tape. Thanks for jamming me up, guys! Now I'll have to drown my sorrows in Iron Man!)
