Tronographic Rusty Box!?

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know... Rusty Boxes are in stock and shipping. Sorry for the delay in posting but they have been shipping since August.

We should have plenty of stock for the next few months.

We are also getting ready to start working on some new designs for 2010.

If you have any questions at all about the box or whatever please feel free to contact me here or through the site.

CHEERS!

I've received this pedal few days ago. I try a lot of pedal preamps, but i found this one most pretty. Great sound in small box.

So, I'll write audio samples soon.

I just ordered mine and I can't wait to get it.

David (or anyone at tronographic), if you still check this thread, I emailed you about an address change I needed to make on my order. If you didn't get the email would you please contact me through this forum or at my emaiL? I want to make sure the Rusty Box doesn't go to my old address in a different state!

Thanks!

Tonally, they're two different beasts, completely, and not worth a comparison...sorry.

They both have similar knobs/pots, but the Tron has a second FS for more dirt. You can DI w/ it...etc etc etc...

One my friend said that they are similar at sound, but.. I don't agree with him :)

It's really hard to compare them, cause sound is very different "in idea".

Before I take Rusty Box, I try a lot of this type preamps - MXR, EBS, SansAmp, Aguillar, Radial, Sadowsky.. And my choice is Tronographic with their magic white box. It's hard to explain, but it is the sound what I love, but another boxes gave me only "a little better sound".

Where put it in your effects chain?

Depends of the whole chain :) The main time I use it in the end of chain, but for similar effects it is better to use it before.

I love the way the rusty box colors and overdrives a tube amp's signal. I would never sell mine, even if I loved the preamp section of whatever tube amp I was using. Its overdrive alone is amazingly 'powerful'. because of this, it keep it at the end of the pedal chain.

You really can't compare it to a VT.
FWIW I won't ever need a VT thanks to the rustybox. It suits me and the sound I am going for... which isn't the shellac/lizard bass tone. IE It isn't a one trick pony.

Sorry doubters, this pedal is worth every penny.
I too own the traynor ts-50b and agree it IS that tone. :bassist:
