Very cool you're still rocking that Blazer. Those are nice. The factory rims are sweet on the Blazer.
I still have my Ram, with no plans to get rid of it.
My pop sold the Chevy he restored.

My old man has a Ram set up as a hobby farm / plow truck... his daily driver is a recent Mustang GT350. I was actually looking at the 4 door SUV from Dodge in my short list of potential 4 door 4x4's while hunting.
I really like the Avalanche rims on the Blazer, they are staying for a long while... 17" is the right amount of tire vs rim on these for me. I just put new tires on them last summer (265/70r17 cheapies from the tire wholesaler that the shop I work at uses). I've had 2 of the mechanics I work with drive it on the highway recently and were both shocked at how strong it runs and how steady it handles at speed. My boss drives a 97 2 door Tahoe that they have driven as well... so I was pleasantly surprised at the comments.
The wife's new used Suburban has some tacky 20" but she likes them... I straight up traded the 16" aftermarket rims that were on it for the tires (275/55r20 Cooper Highway LT tires pulled off a 2012 Suburban with plenty of life left) that are on it now. I paid $100 for the set of 4 rims from a coworker. The tires that were on the 16" had cracked sidewalls. I would have kept the 16" rims and got a new set like I put on the Blazer, but the Suburban is too close to their weight limit so there wasn't much of a choice tire wise for under $600. The chassis / body have 298k miles, but the engine / tranny / rear were done a few years back as a tow vehicle... it has noticeably more grunt than the Blazer... even with the extra weight. I don't have all the specs (not for lack of asking), but it has a fairly lopey idle and a big 3.5" tail pipe. It needs a lot of TLC, but it is a sound truck frame and drive train wise.

i love old trucks. years ago i bought a 62 Ford F100 w/289, 6 cylinder for $750. the owner just gave up on getting it to purr sighting an exhaust leak as a proable cause. i rebuilt the carb, replaced the muffler & pipes, re-arched the springs, and that baby was back to perfect.
a year or two later, i found a beat-up F250 w/300, 6 cylinder 4x4 with a 4" lift. i serviced her from the bottom up. new races, bearing, hubs, brakes, joints, tie rod, seals, etc. after i had the engine rebuilt and a fresh set of rubber shoes that beast was the envy of the local landfill patrons.
this year we are overhauling this baby!
an 82 F250 w/351w 4x4 belonging to my "like father, like son" kid. this one is going to get the "ground-up" treatment, as well. with 118,000 miles on the drivetrain it had the usual petty leaks until the left head gasket blew last month during a tuneup procedure.
so far, everything above the block has been checked, serviced, and replaced. next, all suspect hoses need to be R&R'd and some wiring repaired because of rat damage. this week, we'll be dropping oil pans for inspections and cleaning, checking braking systems front to back, and steam cleaning both fuel tanks. this truck was stored with fuel for roughly 8 years and frankly the tanks smell terrible!

Nice trucks Pacojas! A guitarist I know, who generally drives a little Subaru sporty thing, keeps a mid 70s Ford truck going since before I met him in the late 90s. The thing is a tank (and handles like one

I'm just getting started tracing some extra electronics wired into it that seem to do nothing anymore, and today I'm going to try to get the interior cleaned up. I'll be spending next weekend under both tending to fluids and filters. The wife hasn't driven the 'burb yet, it is pretty dirty inside, she'll start using it regular after next weekend.
It was the beater tow rig / parts hauler for the Vette / Hot Rod shop I work at when the 3 dualies were in use for a couple years before being parked last summer (I've been trying to buy it from them since last fall!).

I don't think I'll ever, intentionally, own a car.
If you get a spare $20G together, I got a neighbor who owns a 'speed shop' who'll part with his personal, fully blown, stealth Chevy P/u that looks like the one you want. Besides the wheels it looks completely stock.
I did a search and didn't find any specific truck threads... but I only clicked back a few pages of my search.
I'm sure there are a lot of truck fans here, I'd love to see pictures and hear about TB Trucks.
My wife has always wanted one, but it was never practical... the other day in a long conversation about them we've decided to hunt down and fix up an older Chevy/GMC 2WD. I've been spending a lot of time reading and researching... and shopping.
Right now, if I had the cash on hand, I'd be buying this truck
It's a 1969 Chevy C20 Longhorn that had a ground up restro done a bunch of years back and ready for a little fresh TLC. It had the drivetrain swapped with a 1989 Formula Firebird 5.7 & 4 speed auto tranny, few other standard 'modern' upgrades along with it.
The truck will be a dual purpose wife 'Grocery Getter' with a bit of 'running to Home Depot' from me
If this one doesn't work out, I'll be continuing to focus on 67-72 but also looking at 73-87 Chevy/GMC as well. I like both styles, but the lower nose of the earlier ones is a plus for the wife driving it. Either way, 3" lowered spindles and 70s hotrod rims/street tires will be part of the upgrades

The 51 is one cool truck. When I was in high school, I drive one like it.I love trucks, always had one since I started driving in 1986. This is my 2002 Ram. I bought it in 2005. It has a 360 in it, so I get about 10MPG. The interior is more like a car with heated leather seats and power all around. I added the canopy and had the rims powdercoated right before we moved.

This is my pops 1951 Chevy he restored. It looked decent when he got it from my uncle, but he replaced the cab, all the glass, put a new wood deck in the bed, did a bunch of bodywork, and fixed up the interior. I'm not much of a mechanic, so I helped with the interior upgrades like running cable for Bluetooth and USB and did some upholstery work.

Never a daily driver, but I'll always have a truck. It's a pain to do without. I have an '03 GMC Sierra Z71 4X4 with the 5.3L engine. It get's right about it's rated fuel economy, 13mpg/18mpg. Still runs like new, and I see no reason it won't last me another 20 years easily.

I had a 1965 GMC 3/4 ton with no good parts for a while. I loved that truck and miss it. It had a 250 straight six and a 3 on the tree, a broken window regulator on the driver's side, the usual rust, dent, and tall, skinny bias ply tires on split rims. It was DOT orange with a green stripe about the color of highway signs around the beltline. No radio, no a/c, no nonsense. It was for hauling heavy stuff slowly from one place to another. If I could find another one like it and had a place to put it, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Well, no I wouldn't because SWMBO wouldn't be very happy about it, but I sure would like to have an old pickup like it.

My only other truck was a silver '93 Ford F150 extended cab 4x4. A real Cowboy Cadillac, that my wife drove off into the sunset with, a couple days after the divorce. It was a nice truck - but I'd rather have the VW back...
